BARBERA DM ESTATE 2019

REGION Asti Piemonte Italy

Barbera is certainly one of the archetypal Piemontese grapes, grown in the dreamy surroundings of the Monferrato hills. Compared to Nebbiolo, the general Barbera style is more in tune with the average contemporary consumer’s tastes: Bold, deep juice, and marked with a punchy acidity. The Asti style is the archetypal variation of a great Barbera, lighter than its fleshier Alba counterpart.

Winemaker Notes:

The 2019 Barbera d'Asti DM ESTATE is rich concentration and relatively tame acidity, Aromas of blueberry, wet earth and a hint of orange peel come through, and this Barbera’s full body and intensity are balanced by a silky-smooth finish, combining richness with finesse.

AGLIANICO DM ESTATE 2019

Aglianico is a thick-skinned, black grape that loves hot, sunny climates. It’s widely cultivated in the southern Italy regions of Campania and Basilicata

.

Winemaker Notes:

The 2019 Aglianico DM ESTATE is Intense and clear ruby red color. On the nose, the wine recalls wild black fruit, licorice and herbs. On the palate, it is balanced with a finish that is reminiscent of fresh fruit, ending with a delicate balsamic note. which is FULL in body and flavor and quite firm and expressive.

PRIMITIVO DM ESTATE 2019

There is no real debate to be had here: Puglia, the southwestern -most region of Italy, known as the ‘heel’ of the country, is where the vast majority of the world’s Primitivo is produced.

Winemaker Notes:

The 2019 DM ESTATE IS Brilliant ruby-red in color, aromas of black cherries and baking spices complement undertones of tobacco and mint. On the palate, this substantial red is smooth and velvety with balanced acidity and a long, pleasant finish.
